Ana Catarina Pinto
Biography
My name is Ana Catarina Pereira Pinto, I'm 36 years old and I am based in Aveiro.
I have been a nurse since 2010 with a Bachelor's degree from ESSUA. Postgraduate in Urgency and Emergency (2010/2011), specialized in Medical-Surgical Nursing (ESSNorteCVP, 2019), Master's in Medical-Surgical Nursing - area of specialization in Person in Critical Condition (2022), PhD student in Health, Technologies and Well-being Sciences - Nursing Specialization since October 2023.
I worked in an Emergency unit for 13 years and I currently work in an Intensive Care Unit, both at ULSRA.
Since 2020 I have been part of the EMS team at the same institution.
In May 2023 I received a Specialist Degree in Nursing (Decree-Law no. 206/2009).
In September 2023, I started lecturing at ESSNorteCVP, where I taught courses such as: Adult and Elderly Health Nursing (2nd year undergraduate), Research I (3rd year undergraduate), Research II (4th year undergraduate), EC III (2nd year undergraduate), Internship to the person in critical condition II (Master's), Internship to the person in critical condition I (Master's).
I have carried out research studies related to Evidence-Based Practice and promoting its implementation in clinical practice settings.
I was awarded the Research Incentive prize by the Research and Development Unit in 2023, with the study "Specialist Medical-Surgical Nurses’ Perceptions of Evidence-Based Practice".
In January 2024 I was granted funding from the Participatory Budget of the Nursing Council – Center Region, with the project "PBE@WORK - Digital learning paths for nurses".
Over the last years I have been involved in several scientific events as a guest speaker and also with oral presentations and scientific posters (see ORCID). I have had the opportunity to publish four scientific articles, with two others submitted and pending peer-review from international scientific journals (see ORCID).
