Ana Paula Fernandes
Biography
Graduated with a Bachelor's degree (1996) and Degree (1997) in Nursing from the Ribeirão Preto School of Nursing at the University of São Paulo. Master (1999) and PhD (2003) in Basic and Applied Immunology from the Faculty of Medicine of Ribeirão Preto, University of São Paulo, Post-Doctorate from the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada (2005) and Free Professor from the University of São Paulo ( 2009). She is currently Associate Professor 3 at the University of São Paulo. Coordinates the Immunology and Microbiology disciplines at EERP-USP. Coordinates the HIV/AIDS Study Group - GEHA. Coordinator and Curator of the Comprehensive Education Repository for Sexuality, HIV/AIDS and Diversity, in partnership with the UN, through UNAIDS and UNESCO. Coordinates partnership agreements between UN/UNAIDS and USP for the development of research, teaching and extension. Advisor of the Postgraduate Program in Fundamental Nursing and Interunit Doctoral Program at EERP-USP. She has experience in the area of Nursing, with an emphasis on Nursing in Communicable Diseases, researching immunogenetic and behavioral factors associated with infectious diseases and vulnerabilities of transgender people. Current lines of research are aimed at studying the behavioral and etiopathogenic aspects of infectious, autoimmune and neoplastic diseases, focusing on the evaluation of polymorphisms in genes involved in the innate and acquired immune response, working mainly on the following topics: nursing, immunogenetics , sexuality, LGBTQIAPN+, HLA, HCV, HBV, HIV/AIDS, HPV and SARS-COV-2.
