On June 23, the "Promotion of self-care for the improvement of health outcomes" event was held at the Rectory of Nova University of Lisbon, where the book “Vou ser operado ao coração, e agora? Guia para uma rápida recuperação” was presented, authored by Prof. José Fragata and linked to the activities of the Cardiofollow.AI Project, which involves several researchers from the CHRC.

“Value for Health CoLAB” coordinated the publication of the book “Vou ser operado ao coração, e agora? Guia para uma rápida recuperação”, authored by José Fragata, a doctor of the cardiothoracic surgery specialty. This initiative was supported by the Portuguese Society of Cardiology, which aims to boost the area of Health Literacy in VOH.CoLAB and is framed within the CardioFollow.AI project whose objective is the telemonitoring of patients after discharge from cardiothoracic surgery. The book published by Editora d’IDEIAS  is oriented towards prevention and self-care and aims to inform patients about preparation for surgery and step-by-step post-surgical recovery. Along the same lines, other initiatives are being prepared to adapt health literacy content, with a view to educating and empowering citizens, in co-creation with health specialists and partners.” explained by Prof. Raquel Silva from VOH.CoLAB.

The CardioFollow.AI project, whose lead researcher is Professor Ana Londral and researcher at the CHRC, is currently undergoing a clinical trial.
