CHRC in the European Researchers' Night of 2024
On September 27th, the CHRC was present at the European Researchers' Night of 2024, in the city of Évora with several samples of projects carried out by our researchers.
During this very busy event, we could count on the voluntary participation of several CHRC researchers who brought activities based on their projects to allow civil society to participate and with the intention of not only letting people know what work in health research is taking place, but also with the aim of bringing the general public closer to science, thus also increasing their health literacy.
We had the presence of the following projects:
. “Behavior of the percentage of muscle O2 Saturation as a function of HR”, by José Parraça
. “Exercise for chronic diseases treatment”, by Jorge Bravo, where real-time cardiac rehabilitation sessions were presented with heart rate monitoring through the HeartFit application
. “Technology in Sports Performance Analysis” by Hugo Folgado, with the participation of researchers Bruno Gonçalves and Paulo Pereira, where technological devices used to collect information and data in sports practice environments were demonstrated, as well how to use them to support development of sports performance, presenting all the tools used to collect that information
. “HERO: Impact of Artificial Habitats and Environmental contaminants on Chronic Respiratory Diseases”, by Ramiro Pastorinho and presented by Ana Catarina Sousa, displaying a project that studies the environmental contaminants to which we are exposed in our daily lives and somes invitations were made to the public to be part of this study, with sample collection and measurement of respiratory capacity
. “Handwriting as a potential early indicator of dementia”, by Ana Rita Matias, with the aim of evaluating brain activity and writing kinematics during the execution of some writing tasks
. “Grandparents and Grandchildren - Intergenerationality from a psychomotor perspective”, by Ana Morais, whose activities presented served to demonstrate psychomotor assessment tests applied to children and the elderly, within the scope of the research on intergenerational psychomotor intervention.
. “RUN UP - motor competence and nutritional state in childhood”, by Gabriela Almeida, which brought some activities to assess motor competence and health-related physical fitness based on simple and fun tests/tasks in children and adolescents
. “Pharmacovigilance out of the box” by Ana Margarinha Advinha, whose objective was to disseminate the National Pharmacovigilance System and raise awareness about the importance of medication risk management at community level. Games, clarification of doubts, dissemination of materials in video format were carried out to create interaction with participants
. “Metacognitive Training for OlderAdults with Depression”, by Lara Guedes de Pinho, whose objective was to demonstrate practical metacognitive training exercises used to reduce depressive symptoms.
