Miguel Xavier Awarded with the Gold Medal for Distinguished Service in Health
At the Commemorative Session of World Health Day, organised by the Ministry of Health, Professor Miguel Xavier, Vice Dean and President of the Scientific Council of NOVA Medical School and CHRC researcher, was awarded with the Distinguished Service Medal – Gold Grade.
The medal was presented during the ceremony by the Prime Minister, Luís Montenegro, and the Minister of Health, Ana Paula Martins. This prestigious honour recognises Professor Xavier’s exceptional contribution to the fields of mental health, public health, and medical science in Portugal. His career has been marked by a commitment to improving health systems and advancing medical research, making a lasting impact both nationally and internationally.
