Movimento UÉvora: A Wellbeing Initiative Born from the Vagar(mente) Project
Within the scope of the Vagar(mente) project — an initiative of the University of Évora’s Mental Health Programme in collaboration with the CHRC — the Movimento UÉvora Programme is currently underway. This initiative focuses on the importance of physical exercise and psychomotricity as key pillars in the prevention and promotion of physical and mental health.
Aimed at fostering the well-being of the academic community, the programme offers weekly sessions of Climbing, Strength Training, HIIT, Pilates, Relaxation Techniques, Tai Chi, Functional Training, and Yoga. Activities take place across various University of Évora facilities, ensuring broad participation and accessibility.
Launched on 18 November 2024, Movimento UÉvora has already attracted over 150 participants, including students, teaching staff, and administrative personnel — a testament to the community’s enthusiasm and engagement with this health-promotion initiative.
The programme also involves the active participation of several CHRC researchers, reinforcing its scientific foundation and commitment to evidence-based health promotion.
