Vagar(mente) project – Mental Health intervention study for university students since 2022

In order to celebrate the World Mental Health Day, the Vagar(mente) project, a program implemented by the University of Évora and CHRC and led by the researcher, Lara Guedes de Pinho, made it’s 3rd intervention in a row since 2022. This project was present in several initiatives with the students of the University of Évora on October 10 and also participated in the RTP2 program, “Sociedade Civil”, where Lara Guedes de Pinho explains the importance of carrying out na annual screening of students' Mental Health to collect the percentages of the impact of mental illness among young university students.

Since 2022, on World Mental Health Day, the project team has carried out an intervention with university students, through the delivery of a questionnaire to collect data on the state of mental health among higher education students and also made a communicative intervention on the importance of mental health, how they can intervene and ask for help, as well as knowing how to identify the crucial signs to use a “brake” and learn the several ways and available channels to make a self intervention.

This year, researcher Lara Guedes de Pinho also intervened in the activities of the EU Academic Association, where she presented study data for the years 2022 and 2023, addressing the challenges faced by academic students in terms of mental health.
