Biography

Hermenegildo Domingos dos Santos Pateiro, born in Azaruja on 2 May 1966. I live in Montemor-o-Novo, in a common-law marriage and have two children. At the moment I am the director of the Arraiolos Schools Grouping and I am a PhD student in Health and Welfare Sciences. I studied in the Lisbon School of Health Technologies and finished the pharmacy technician course. I worked in this profession at the Évora Hospital between 1988 and 1998. I graduated in Physical Chemistry, teaching at the University of Évora in 1998, transferring from the Ministry of Health to the Ministry of Education, where I am today. In 2007 I finished my master's degree in Physics for Teaching.  I have taught at the University and in several primary and secondary schools. In 2009 I completed a post-graduate course in School Administration. In July 2020 I stopped teaching and became a headmaster. My area of research is Health Promotion, behavioural perceptions and inequalities because as a school headmaster I aim to develop projects that help prevent disruptive behaviour by students.
