Thematic Line Coordinator

The objective of the Thematic Line (TL) 'Health Promotion and Health Care through Life Course' is to explore and implement strategies that promote health and well-being across all stages of life. This includes interventions aimed at preventing diseases, promoting healthy behaviors, and improving access to quality healthcare services throughout the lifespan. This TL is envisaged to address the complex interplay between various factors influencing health outcomes, including social, environmental, and biological determinants. By focusing on health promotion and care throughout the life course, the aim is to enhance overall population health and reduce health disparities. The organization of research groups within this thematic line contributes to achieving its objectives and strategy by covering a wide range of interdisciplinary topics relevant to health promotion and healthcare delivery:

- Nutrition and Metabolism and Human kinetics: Investigates the impact of, respectively, diet and food environments and physical exercise on health outcomes and develops interventions to promote healthy eating and physical habits.

- Advanced genetics is crucial to predict risk, broadcast disease prognostic and support intervention options.

- Behavioural Science and Social Innovation: Examines behavioral factors influencing health behaviors and develops innovative approaches to promote positive behavior change.

- Health Systems and Health Policies: Analyzes health systems and policies to identify areas for improvement in healthcare delivery and access.

- Environmental and Occupational Health: Explores the impact of environmental and occupational factors on health and develops strategies to mitigate risks.

- Data and Health Technology: Utilizes data and technology to improve health outcomes, enhance healthcare delivery, and facilitate health promotion efforts.

- Research groups dedicated to specific pathologies (mental, cardiorespiratory, musculoskeletal, infection, and translational oncology) add a bulk of knowledge that contribute to prevention and improved care throughout life. - Patients must be involved in the management of their health. Self-care and systems centered at patient care are instrumental to an optimized Health Promotion and Health Care through Life Course.

Each research group contributes specific expertise and perspectives to the ultimate goal of promoting health and providing quality healthcare throughout the life course. Collaboration between these groups enables the development of comprehensive strategies and interventions that address the multifaceted nature of health promotion and healthcare delivery.
