Maria Assunção

Maria Assunção has a strong background in molecular biology and sample management. She has a Master's degree in Biotechnology from FCT-NOVA and a PhD “Plants for Life” from ITQB-NOVA. In July 2020 she started as coordinator of the laboratory of the task force for COVID-19 at NOVA Medical School (NMS). Besides the development and implementation of SOPs she was involved in many research projects and services taking advantage of the samples and knowledge available. In October 2022 she became the technical coordinator of the Comprehensive Health biobank (CHAIN) at the CHRC, NMS.
