Miguel Roque Soares

Miguel R. Soares received the M.Sc. degree in Electronics and Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Aveiro, in 2020, and is currently pursuing the Ph.D. degree in Telecommunications Engineering at the same university. His doctoral research focuses on the study and design of wireless data and power transmission RF architectures for implantable biomedical devices. He worked as a Hardware/Firmware Engineer at Barix AG, Switzerland, developing embedded electronic systems, and later joined Fraunhofer Portugal AICOS as a Researcher in Embedded Hardware, contributing to low-power sensing platforms, RF front-end design, and mixed-signal signal processing. His current interests include implantable RF transceivers and antennas, energy-aware/batteryless implantable devices, RF front-end development, and robust wireless links in complex propagation media.
