4th CHRC Annual Summit – The Outcome

On the 25th and 26th of May, the 4th edition of the CHRC Annual Summit took place at Palácio D.Manuel I, in Évora. This event is the most important moment of the year for our Research Centre, as it allows its integrated members to come together and to share knowledge of the research work carried out within the scope of CHRC, responsible for the level of excellence for our Centre.

The opening ceremony was hold by the DEAN of University of Évora, Hermínia Vilar, by Lúcia Cardoso from the Évora City Council and by the CHRC Coordinator and DEAN of NOVA Medical School, Helena Canhão. Hermínia Vilar, during her opening speech, thanked the members of CHRC for the work they have been carrying out in the health area, reinforcing that this “is a central issue for the University, whether in our training or in research, which have suffered a expansion in its multiple aspects, and this connection to CHRC is therefore extremely important”. Helena Canhão said “I had the luck and happiness of bringing together researchers in the health area and beyond, with the most diverse backgrounds and interests, coming from different institutions that are represented here, through various health professionals, as physiotherapists, nurses, doctors, engineers, nutritionists, Physical Education Teachers, and therefore we are here to represent public health through promotion”.

This edition was important because CHRC is now entering in a new phase, being the main topic related to building the vision and projecting the future of our Research Centre.

This edition offered most of its time for CHRC research and initiatives presentations in addition to the Hot Topics whose themes were valuable and varied for this annual meeting of CHRC scientific community.

It was presented a brief group of results from the CHRC Management Report of 2022 and it was also communicated two new initiatives from our Centre: CHRC Talks and the opportunity of monetary support from CHRC Education & Training Office for the researchers who want to organize new trainings or small conferences.

A space for leisure and conviviality was also offered to exchange knowledge and create close professional relationships between our researchers.

The Outcome for this CHRC Annual Summit edition:

. 162 integrated members participated in the event;

. 69 approved abstracts;

. 31 oral presentations, including abstracts from our researchers and PhD students and projects within the scope of CHRC;

. 38 digital posters;

. 5 Hot Topics;

. + 24kg of food leftovers delivered to Refood. The CHRC Annual Summit, in addition to Health, strives for sustainability and fights against waste.

CHRC would like to leave a special note of thanks to all the participants, guest speakers, the services that participated directly in the organization of the event and last but not least, the Organizing Committee for providing two very pleasant and interesting days for our integrated members.
