6th CHRC Annual Summit stands out for its strong scientific and collaborative focus
The 6th CHRC Annual Summit took place in Évora, at the Palácio D. Manuel, on 22 and 23 September 2025, bringing together researchers, students, and representatives from national and international institutions to discuss the major challenges and opportunities in health research, marking an important first step for the Research Centre in its new 2025–2029 cycle.
The event welcomed 176 participants, and this edition stood out for its strong scientific component, featuring 50 posters, 45 oral presentations of scientific studies, and 12 keynote speakers in sessions dedicated to “Hot Topics”.
The scientific programme included presentations of ongoing PhD projects, recent and developing scientific studies, Poster Discussion sessions, and a session dedicated to the CHRC’s Thematic Lines, aimed at strengthening research networks and promoting a multidisciplinary perspective.
Among the highlights was a roundtable discussion with representatives from ANI, CCDR Alentejo, and EIT Health Portugal, focused on the role of innovation and institutional collaboration. One of this year’s major innovations was “Partnering for Health Innovation”, which brought together representatives from health-related companies and start-ups to share experiences of collaboration and innovation, fostering closer links between the academic and business sectors.
According to Jorge Bravo, head of the local organising committee for this edition, “It was with great satisfaction that we once again welcomed the CHRC Annual Summit to Évora – for the fifth time in six editions. The event was made possible thanks to the invaluable support of colleagues from the School of Health and Human Development, the São João de Deus Nursing School, the Science and Cooperation Services of the University of Évora, as well as many individual contributions that helped overcome various challenges. As local organiser, it is a source of pride to see Évora affirmed as a national and international meeting point for researchers, students, and health professionals, reinforcing the relevance of the science produced within CHRC,” highlighted the researcher and Professor at the University of Évora (statement made to the University of Évora Communication Office).
With a diverse and comprehensive programme, the 6th CHRC Annual Summit brought together renowned researchers and professionals, promoting knowledge transfer, scientific exchange, and interdisciplinary collaboration around health research.
