CHRC researchers had their project selected for EU Green funding
The TAILEXER project is one of the projects that will receive funding from the EU Green Alliance Seed Funding and the research team includes the participation of CHRC researchers, Armando Raimundo (Director of CHRC at the University of Évora), Nuno Batalha, Jorge Bravo and Pablo Carús.
This project involves studying the application of preventive physical exercise programs for patients with cardiovascular diseases. The objective of this project will be to integrate omics, clinical and lifestyle data to define the level of cardiovascular risk in an adult population, so that it is possible to propose and implement personalized physical exercise programs, focused on patients' physical condition factors and with the aim of understanding which exercises will be most appropriate for each person according to their health status.
The randomized study will include a sample of the population (men and women), aged between 18 and 65 years old. Through this population sample it will be assessed the level of risk of contracting the disease, markers on inflammatory, protein, lipid, clinical and lifestyle. After the initial results, a personalized physical exercise intervention suitable for each case will be implemented. Finally, a final evaluation will be carried out to analyze the effectiveness of the intervention in each of the defined categories.
“We will try to carry out a “proof of concept” to evaluate the feasibility of our plan and methodology to refine the proposal to improve it to subsequently participate in future European calls (HORIZON, ERAPerMed, or MSCA schemes).”
The European partners of this project are the University of Évora (Portugal) Universidad de Extremadura (Spain), Università di PARMA (Italy), Atlantic Technological University (Ireland) and Universität Magdeburg (Germany).
