CHRC Researchers of the University of Évora honoured and appointed to the jury of the COP | REPSOL Sports Sciences Awards 2024/25
Researchers from the Comprehensive Health Research Centre (CHRC) at the University of Évora were recognised at the COP | REPSOL Sports Sciences Awards 2024/25 ceremony, held on October 9 at the University of Aveiro.
In the Sports Training category, the winning article — “How many creatives are enough? Exploring how manipulating the number of creative players in the opposing team impacts footballers’ performance during small-sided games” — included the contribution of Bruno Gonçalves, CHRC researcher and Professor at the Department of Sport and Health of the University of Évora.
CHRC researchers Gabriela Almeida (Department of Sports and Health) and Fábio Flôres (Department of Pedagogy and Education) were also members of the team behind the study “Improving motor competence of children. The ‘super quinas’ intervention programme in Portuguese primary schools”, which was distinguished in the Sport Psychology and Pedagogy category.
The University of Évora and CHRC were also represented on the jury of the Sports Sciences Awards by Professors and researchers Nuno Batalha and Orlando Fernandes, who were part of the scientific evaluation panel.
These distinctions reflect CHRC’s ongoing commitment to excellence in Sports Sciences research, advancing scientific knowledge with a tangible impact on human, educational, and social development.
