Mariana Peyroteo interviewed at the EPHC 2022 conference

CHRC and NMS Researcher Mariana Peyroteo went to the EPHC 2022 conference within the scope of Project PHIRI and it was invited to speak in the “Using foresight to anticipate future public health challenges” workshop.

Mariana presented her work based on her PhD thesis - “The future of health digitalization: The case of Primary Health Care in Portugal” which brings to discussion the importance of future challenges in healthcare systems. Her PhD thesis focuses on developing a model to be able to assess the value of information in Digital Health Services, specifically treating multimorbidity patients in Primary Health Care settings. This was the opportunity for Nora Lorenzo, BSc in Nutrition and Dietetics in University of Barcelona, to interview Mariana, bringing up how COVID-19 was an example of what failed in our Health Care systems and how we could be prepared for a future situation of this magnitude.

The main focus of interest from researcher Mariana Peyroteo is based on improving clinical management and quality of life for patients with chronic diseases. She is currently a researcher in a European H2020 Project - PHIRI, related to COVID-19.
