Opening of the new Master's Degree in Biomedical and Health Sciences at UÉ in the next academic year of 2025/2026

On February 27, at the Colégio Luís António Verney from University of Évora, the new Master's Degree in Biomedical and Health Sciences of UÉ was presented. The CHRC researcher, Ramiro Pastorinho, is the Director of this Master’s Degree.

Under the responsibility of the Department of Medical and Health Sciences, of the School of Health and Human Development, this second cycle provides advancement of studies in the area of Health, filling a long-standing gap in the UÉ's training offer.

In line with one of the six strategic axes - 'Health and Well-being' - set out in UÉ's Development Plan (2023/2026), this master's degree is the latest example of the institution's growing commitment to undergraduate and postgraduate training and research in the area of Health, where the CHRC also comes in.

At a time when the region will soon benefit from a fundamental infrastructure in Health (Hospital Central do Alentejo) and when training in Medicine is a real possibility, the generation of knowledge and new staff provided by the creation of this teaching resource comes at a pivotal moment.

As a centre of excellence, the Comprehensive Health Research Centre will enhance these elements by strengthening the foundations that underpin the institution's projection as a hub for boosting health education at home and abroad.
