CHRC professor and researcher João Conde has been awarded a European Research Council (ERC) Proof of Concept grant to develop the APOLLO-BC project.

One of the project’s main objectives is to validate a laboratory model that more accurately replicates the physical characteristics of breast cancer tumors, enabling the efficacy of approved therapies to be evaluated under conditions that more closely resemble clinical reality. The research focuses on the triple-negative and HER2-positive breast cancer subtypes, with the goal of improving the prediction of treatment response and advancing increasingly personalized medicine.

This funding from the European Research Council recognizes the innovation potential and impact of the research conducted at NOVA Medical School, reinforcing its commitment to developing solutions that bring scientific advances closer to patients.
