COMMUNICATION OF RISKS APPLIED TO OCCUPATIONAL AND ENVIRONMENTAL HEALTH Seminar
The online seminar Communication of Risks Applied to Occupational and Environmental Health will take place on November 27th, starting at 14h30 and will present the main theories and methods of risk communication and its role in the management of environmental and occupational health risks, with the intention of transferring knowledge to the research community.
Goals:
. To make known the concept of risk in the process of assessing and managing occupational and environmental risks, recognizing the importance of communication in preventing and mitigating damage to human health and the environment;
. Transfer knowledge about the main factors that influence the process of searching, understanding, evaluating the meaning information about risks related to health and the environment;
. Through the presentation and discussion of case studies, be able to understand the logic of applying principles and methods of risk communication in situations of crisis, care and consensus (the 3 “Cs” of risk communication), with a view to managing situations -specific problems in occupational and environmental health.

Prof. Alexandra Suspiro
Doctor specialized in Occupational Medicine, responsible for the SO of HFAR and guest assistant professor of the DSOA of ENSP/NOVA.
Dr. Luís Galaio
Doctor specialized in Occupational Medicine and Guest Assistant at DSOA in ENSP/NOVA.
Prof. Frederico Peres
Senior Researcher at the Sergio Arouca National School of Public Health, Oswaldo Cruz Foundation (ENSP/Fiocruz) of Brazil, and Visiting Associate Professor at the National School of Public Health of the NOVA University of Lisbon.
Prof. Florentino Serranheira
Associated Professor with Aggregation in Occupational Health at ENSP/UNL and researcher at CHRC.
